Being off the grid means not being hooked up to any utilities. Off-grid homes rely on alternative renewable energy sources such as the sun and the wind. When a building is off the grid, it means it has no connection or relationship with a utility and all the power it uses comes from a source that it generates on its own.

April – October are typically the best months. April and May are the most popular months. It’s warm during the day and chilly at night; fair warning: spring can bring incredible winds. June and July are summer months. The days can be hot but the nights cool off. August is still summer but can also bring monsoon rains; don’t worry, the tents are waterproof. September and October are our favorite months. Day and night time temperatures are ideal, less likely to encounter our high desert winds and not too much rain.
The Skylight Casita is the only unit with AC and heating.
We provide small rechargeable fans in the summer months (June-August) in all other units. We also provide a small portable heater inside the tent. We also keep a supply for sale on hand if you would like to buy them here.
