Tours & Activities
We love showcasing our local community. We live outside our small town of Monticello so most of this list will be folks in the San Juan County area of Monticello, La Sal, Eastland, Blanding and Bluff. However for unique tours that we just don’t have, they will be located in Moab. We do not take commissions if you book one of these tours. We want to help enhance your experience and by supporting other local small businesses, we can do that.
Astronomy Tour @ Glamping Canyonlands
Twice a month our local Astronomer will be on site to show you our solar system. With his Orion telescope, laser pointer, knowledge and pure joy, you will witness the night sky as it should be seen.
Learn and see constellations, planets, dead stars, clusters, the Milky Way and galaxies right here at Glamping Canyonlands. Snuggle up with a cozy blanket on an Adirondack Chair and explore the dark sky that many people don’t get to experience. As we are surrounded by Dark Sky Parks, we are in a unique location for some of the best stargazing around.

GS3 Outfitters
Ride with the guy who first founded the popular 4×4 trail, Hell’s Revenge. As a local native, George has spent his life riding and creating trails. We have worked together to bring you trails that others don’t see. Get off the beaten path and experience the solutide and thrill with a pro.
Pick a sunset or morning ride that will last 3-6 hours. With a small run family business, you can tell him what you are wanting to experience and he can make it happen. This is an experience you don’t want to miss!

Wild Expeditions
Can’t decide between a land based tour or the river? This combination tour includes the best of two of our favorite trips meshed into one amazing day on the San Juan. You’ll float 8 miles paddling your own kayak or jump in a tandem with someone you love. Two short easy hikes will take you to one of the largest rock art panels in North America and a 1000 year old cliff dwelling. Unlike Mesa Verde and other National Parks this is a wilderness expedition and we often have these world class sites to ourselves. We’ll feed you lunch on the peaceful banks of the river and end the day with a rugged 4×4 Hummer ride back to Bluff.

Base Jump Moab
BASE Jump Moab is an extreme experience outfitter and guide company. We offer professional access to canyoneering, rock climbing, rappelling, rope swings, and Tandem BASE jumping. Since 2018 we’ve jumped and documented hundreds of people facing their fears, pushing their limits, tasting flight, and/ or exploring the dramatic landscapes of Moab, Utah.
NAVTEC Expeditions
A full day adventure to Chesler Park in the heart of the Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. Travel in heavy duty yet comfortable 4X4 vehicles.
The route takes you over famous Elephant Hill, renowned for its difficulty as one of the most challenging trails in Southeastern Utah. You’ll see the Devil’s Kitchen along the way and cruise down Devil’s Lane before encountering SOB Hill, another challenge on the trail to our 4X4 vehicles.
Ancient Wayves River and Hiking Adventures
Ancient Wayves was created in 2020 and is based on the Navajo Nation. We are excited to be a newly-established, indigenous, outdoor recreational guide company providing unique tours in and around the Bear’s Ears National Monument landscape. As an Indigenous-Navajo touring company, our services are oriented towards providing a unique experience through culture sharing and storytelling.
Audio Guided Stargazing Experience
Guided Stargazing by VISIT DARK SKIES is simply lying on your back and looking at the stars. The audio file can be purchased online and we will direct you to the best location to relax and stargaze on camp. This is a very relaxing and quiet experience with the night sky.
Desert Solitude
